The Macallan 18 year old series has been present throughout generations of whisky drinkers.
This collection of twenty-eight bottles starts with the 1974 (1992 release) with a bottle presented as a birthday present to the owner every year up until the 2019 release. The twenty-eight bottles act as a physical history lesson in the development of an internationally renowned brand.

The Macallan 18 year old: a history
It is hard to imagine today a whisky world where the likes of Macallan had to tag the name of a neighbouring distillery to assure sales when in 2018 it was Macallan who broke the record for the most expensive whisky in the world three times in a single year. Yet when the Macallan 18 year old was first bottled in 1984 the bottle states that the whisky was distilled in 1965 at the Macallan-Glenlivet distillery.
Since the first Macallan 18 was released Macallan has come on an incredible branding journey that is clearly shown in the twenty-eight bottle vertical offered by our client. The bottles start out with the iconic early golden and cream label from 1974 to 1980, run through the short lived splash of blue on the bottle that appeared briefly from 1981 to 1985, before the 1986 unmistakable bottle redesign and switch from distilled year to release year for the 2016 release (that would have been the 1998 distillation year). Each bottle is presented with its original box in immaculate condition.
This is a tale of luxury whisky in a collection of bottles; a brand that has taken on a life of its own, one of high demand, premium acquisition and more than anything, enthusiasm. This spectacular collection of whisky is not only the work of an individual, it's the work of numerous master distillers, wood experts, distillery staff, and the personal touch of a gift given once a year that has been transformed by time into something rare and exceptional.
