Mannochmore Distillery
Mannochmore was built in the early 1970s by DCL in order to cope with increasing demands to blended Scotch. It is located next to its sister plant, Glenlossie, just south of Elgin. Mannochmore was used in the creation of Haig & Dimple.
The distillery is perhaps best known for its use in creating the controversial ‘Loch Dhu The Black Whisky’, infamous for its deep, black colour.
First Cask
First Cask is a series of specially selected single malt whiskies that were bottled as single cask, cask strength bottlings by Direct Wines.
First Cask is a generally undervalued series, with some fine examples of well-aged whiskies from renowned distilleries going for relatively low prices compared to similar ages and vintages from other independent bottlers or official releases.
