Starting off life as a brewery, it wasn’t until 1897 that Glen Moray became a fully-fledged whisky distillery. Sadly in 1910 the distillery closed and didn’t reopen due to financial issues until 1923. When they reopened Glen Moray paved their own way, creating their own whisky within the Speyside style, up until 2008 when the distillery was purchased by LVMH. One notable event was some Glen Moray being vatted with Ardbeg to produce the Ardbeg Serendipity. More recently La Martiniquaise purchased the distillery and continue to operate it, picking up Cutty Sark along the way.
