Edradour distillery began producing whisky in 1837 after it was founded by a group of farmers. This group and their descendents retained ownership until 1933 when it was sold to William Whiteley, a famous blending house with a good sales record in Prohibition-era United States thanks to Mafia boss, Frank Costello, and his role as the King’s Ramson blend sales representative.

The distillery was sold to Pernod Ricard in 1982 and the whisky first appeared as a single malt in1 986. Edradour was sold again to Signatory Vintage in 2002 and the distilleryhas since prospered. It’s beautiful location and distillery buildings make it one of the most visited distilleries in Scotland.
