Glengoyne distillery has historically favoured sherry casks, although their younger releases do show more bourbon influence. Glengoyne is renowned as the highland distillery that matures its casks in the lowlands, a quirk of its location with the distillery on the highland side of the divide and its warehouse on the lowland side. Glengoyne is known for its approachable malt style that bridges the highland and lowland approaches. Situated within the Trossarchs over 85,000 visitors arrive at Glengoyne each year.
