Tullibardine 1968 Single Cask

Tullibardine distillery has had a tumultuous history. The first incarnation of Tullibardine only lasted for one year, from 1798 until 1799. In 1814, the distillery began production once more and ran until 1837. In 1949, distillery designer William Delme-Evans bought the site of an old brewery named Gleneagles, and built a distillery - the first to be erected in Scotland since 1900.

Tullibardine prospered under the ownership of Brodie Hepburn, a blender to which the distillery was sold in 1953. Brodie Hepburn was subsequently bought by Invergordon Distillers in 1971, and in 1973 Tullibardine’s stills were increased to four.

In 1993, Whyte & Mackay purchased Invergordon Distillers, and Tullibardine was subsequently mothballed. 10 years later, a group of investors bought and revived Tullibardine. The distillery was again sold in 2011 to Picard Vins & Spiritueux. Tullibardine has been invigorated, and in 2014 the Tullibardine Custodians Collection was released.

This expression was bottled in 2008, a few years after the distillery was revived. These single cask bottlings represented a new era for Tullibardine.

This bottle was distilled in 1968 and bottled from a single cask in 2008. One of just 252 bottles.
