Jura 8 Year Old 70 proof
This Jura single malt was bottled by Charles Mackinlay & Co Ltd in the 1970s, at a time when blends very much ruled market and single malts were vastly overlooked. This expression, therefore, is something of a relic from a time before the astronomical prices that single malts can command today.
A small, humble distillery that quietly gets on with providing whisky drinkers of all levels with liquids to savour and enjoy. Jura has gone through a lot of rebranding and re-racking within its own warehouses. Anything casked prior to 1995, around 30,000 casks, had to be refilled into better quality wood, as it was only from this point onward that major companies started buying into whisky and planning far ahead. Jura has a style that covers all flavour profiles, this is one of the reasons that it has such a broad status throughout the whisky community. Whether you’re looking for refill bourbon barrels or some of the rarest wine casks on earth, Jura has them in plentiful stocks.
