Glen Albyn Distillery
Glen Albyn was, sadly, a victim of the 1980s whisky loch, and closed in 1983 under DCL. An innovative distillery in its day, Glen Albyn was one of the first distilleries to install Saladin boxes in place of floor maltings in the mid-1950s. Independent bottlings of Glen Albyn are extremely rare, with most single malts haoling from Diageo’s Rare Malts Selection.
Connoisseurs Choice
Arguably Gordon & Macphail’s most famous series, the Connoisseurs Choice range showcases a variety of single malts from every region in Scotland. The range was launched in the mid-1960s and remains a by-word for high quality single malts from distilleries such as Macallan, Ardbeg, and Port Ellen.
