Caperdonich Distillery
Originally known as Glen Grant No. 2, a small pipe used to run overhead from the Glen Grant distillery to Caperdonich so that they could cask and recreate similar distillate to that of Glen Grant. The distillery operated like this for only four years before lying dormant until 1965 when it was purchased by Glenlivet. A law passed in the same year stating that two distilleries couldn’t operate with the same name, as a result Glenlivet renamed the distillery to Caperdonich. Sadly, the distillery ceased production in 2002 and was sold in 2010 with the buildings being demolished, making whisky from this distillery increasingly scarce.
Connoisseurs Choice
Arguably Gordon & Macphail’s most famous series, the Connoisseurs Choice range showcases a variety of single malts from every region in Scotland. The range was launched in the mid-1960s and remains a by-word for high quality single malts from distilleries such as Macallan, Ardbeg, and Port Ellen.
