Bunnahabhain Distillery
Bunnahabhain is a classic Islay distillery that doesn’t release ‘traditional’ peated Islay whiskies, Bruichladdich being another example of this. Bunnahabhain do release some peated whisky, but their main style is sherry influence. Of all the Islay distilleries, Bunnahabhain is one that is continuously overlooked, but as it approaches its 150th anniversary it certainly shows that it has earned its place as a fantastic whisky producer. Bunnahabhain whiskies pack in flavour from heaps of Spanish cask influence and a slightly salty finish, really melding the Islay style sweet and savoury together.
Murray McDavid
Murray McDavid was established in 1994 and quickly gained a reputation for interesting maturation methods and subsequent bottling. The company also played an integral role in the reopening of Bruichladdich in 2000. The bottlers are currently based in Coleburn distillery, Speyside.
Jim McEwan's Celtic Heartland
Each whisky in the Celtic Heartlands range was hand-selected by Jim McEwan. McEwan is one of the most famous names in Scotch whisky, having 38 years of experience at Bowmore under his belt, as well as a Master Distiller role at Bruichladdich for 15 years. In 2017 he left Bruichladdich bound for Ardnahoe.
The Celtic Heartlands bottlings are beautifully presented in unique bottles and presentation cases.
