Dufftown Distillery
Dufftown distillery began producing whisky in 1896 and was owned by Mackenzie & Co until 1933 when it became part of Arthur Bell & Sons and, therefore, an integral part of the Bell’s blend.
The distillery became part of the Singleton brand in 2006 alongside Glendullan and Glen Ord. In the same year, a 12 year old was launched as a travel retail exclusive. Today, the Singleton brand is one of Diageo’s best selling brands.
Cadenhead
Cadenhead was first established by George Duncan in 1842, at 47 Netherkirkgate in Aberdeen, making it the oldest of Scotland’s independent bottlers. In 1972 J & A. Mitchell took over the business and moved operations from Netherkirkgate to Campbeltown. Nowadays, in addition to the high-end, non-coloured and non-chill-filtered single malts, Cadenhead has tasting rooms and shops in Edinburgh and London.
